Pratt & Whitney FT4 engines were used in the 378 foot coast guard cutters. Tim Callahan was on a Coast Guard Cutter in Jan. 2010 that was built in 1967.

History Notes: Dynapower has had several designs over the years. In the 60’s & early 70’s it was Phase III design.  In the early 70’s through mid-80’s it was the Phase IV design.  The most current design is what Hydra builds new & is call Generation II design.

Dynapower was at one time the largest manufacturer of Hydrostatic transmissions (Axial Piston Pumps & Motors) & was located in Watertown New York.  They were purchase by Vickers in the early 90’s & Vickers was purchased by Eaton Corp a few years later.

Hydra has been repairing & rebuilding Dynapower since 1984 & was a service center for Dynapower when they were in New York.  Eaton approached us in 2010 to form a strategic partnership. We continue to do what we’ve always done with Dynapower so now we are the only manufacturer of the OEM Dynapower product line.
